Eggs in the forest

We went to San Juan National Forest in Colorado for Isaiah's first Easter Egg hunt. We picked a spot right next to the river. He found lots of eggs and had a great time!

Isaiah loved the river! He kept trying to jump in!

After finding all his eggs, we sat down to open them...

Upon discovering that they were filled with Goldfish and Cheerios (two of Isaiah's very favorite things)...

He immediately started eating!

More vacation shots

MMM, MMM! We stopped at the Choke Cherry Tree store to get FREE SAMPLES of moose poop, deer droppings and bear piles. I know, you're jealous. You can't believe they're just giving this stuff away! We'll definately be bringing some home and if you're lucky, you'll get to eat poop too!

The catch of the day! Fresh rainbow trout. It looks small in the picture. It was really big, I promise. It had to be 4 or 5 lbs, I don't know for sure. But it was big. Ask Dave in a few weeks how big it was and I'm sure it will be 8-10 lbs by then. Of course it was nothing compared to the GIGANTIC one I caught a few years ago.

The Springs. As in what made Pagosa Springs famous. We loved it here, and so did Isaiah. It is amazing, naturally hot pools of mineral water of varying temperatures. Dave and I spent lots of time here just soaking in the therapeutic waters! There is a large warm pond where there are gold fish swimming around. How do they not get cooked? My favorite pool was 110 degrees. Warms you to the bone! Dave liked the 105, said it was just perfect! I dared to go up to 113, but I couldn't stand one degree higher! You feel like you just got a massage after you get out! Isaiah had a great time in the heated swimming pool, and he liked the 99 degree spring. He kept whispering "hot! hot! hot!" The Springs are right up against the river, you can actually get into the freezing cold river! It makes for gorgeous scenery, we watched kayakers practicing on the icy rapids as we sat in the nice toasty springs. A few years ago, Dave and I went white water rafting on the very same river.

Here's a picture of that gorgeous sunset...

more later. I am uploading at dial up speed and it is killing me!

COLORADO

Isaiah's first time on a plane! He did so well and he was so excited! We spent many more hours in airports then we expected because of delays, and the delays led us to miss our connections...but we made it!
One great thing that came out of our missed connection- we got to have dinner with Tio Andy and Tia Jenny in Arizona.
Pagosa Springs- the view from our Lakefront Condo. I will post an incredible picture of the sunset over the lake soon.

Ready to go fishing!

Beautiful, frozen Lake Hatcher. It had just begun to thaw. The locals said it was 18-20 inches of frozen ice in the winter. They said the ice fishing was incredible! We stopped here for a picnic lunch of BLT's and Egg Salad! MMMM -MMMM!

More Colorado pictures to come! Time to go hot tubbing!

ARIZONA

This is a late posting, but I wanted to get this picture up of the cousins watching Little Einsteins. Last month some of our dearest friends and closest family moved out to Arizona. We went out to wish them well and help them move in. Isaiah loved being there- he had so much fun playing with his cousins, and in the end, it seemed like he didn't want to leave! He sure loves his Tio and Tia too!

We stopped in Blythe on the way back to pay our respects to some of Grandma Annie's cousins in a tiny little cemetary there.

Angela G. Scott- who Grandma Annie was named after.

HE WALKS!

Isaiah has finally decided to walk completely on his own. He started on Saturday the day we left for vacation. He was walking all over the airport! He is already running! We stopped in Arizona and he showed his Tio Andy and Tia Jenny his new talent! Since we have been in Colorado he's chased ducks and almost ran into the lake!

It looks so funny and cute! He looks like Frankenstein with his arms out for balance. Click on the picture and it will show you a short clip of our young Frankenstein in his PJ's after a hard day at play!

Spring is here!

We took a trip to see the fields of blooming ranunculous in Carlsbad today. We were surrounded by gorgeous blooms and crisp ocean air! The flowers seem to go on for miles and miles, as far as you can see- in the most vibrant colors!

Dave's favorite- the red.

Isaiah likes the white.

I love the multicolored field.

He's a cheeky one!
